Mundane tasks, Randy Savage, and More

Mundane tasks, Randy Savage, and More

I haven’t been on any new adventures for the last couple of days, and I’m starting to get restless. My most recent thrills have been of a more mundane nature; cleaning, sleeping, parent-teacher conferences for the end of the school year, and yesterday I went on a road trip to pick up my niece and nephew so they could come and visit for part of the summer.

I love those little guys, so expect to see them more in my blogs this summer. They’ll be experiencing my travel adventures with me along with my four-year old. Yes, I am very much a glutton for punishment.

I should be more upset about not hitting the dusty road and traveling instead of being responsible for the last few days, because the world is supposed to end tomorrow…again. Move over, Y2K; another end-of-the-world scam is born. I read some ridiculousness earlier about a company generously charging only $150 to retrieve your pets and re-home them in the event you disappear in the rapture. Sadly enough, these con artists are making money, because people are foolish enough to buy into the hype. I bet these pet owners will be angry when they wake up tomorrow, and they’ll have nobody to blame but themselves. Any self-respecting Christian will tell you only the Lord knows when the world will end.

I also heard unfortunate news. Today, pro-wrestler, Randy Savage, died at the age of 58; apparently, he had a heart attack and crashed while driving in Seminole, Florida. That’s the extent of the details I know. What I do know is that I will never be able to snap into another Slim Jim without waxing nostalgic, and I will miss the Gruff Macho Man voice, “Oh yeah!”  Rest in peace, Randy Savage.

That’s all I have for now, folks. Even though I’m not traveling right now, others surely are, and I wanted to share the awesome work of Colleen’s Trail Blog with you.She takes amazing photos, and unlike me, is a true professional in her photography. I just clown around with my digital camera, so the differences are clear.

Have you heard of other absurd end-of-the-world stories? Tell me in the comments.

Please share this post with others who might be interested in Randy Savage, Y2K, and more.

  1. Slim Jims will never be the same, and if you decide to lose the compassionate streak, you'd probably rake in some serious dough. People never fail to amaze me. Thanks for reading!

  2. It was my pleasure, and it is well-deserved recognition, Colleen!

  3. I'll try to get the perfect idea, but I will settle for adequate :)

  4. Thanks for your nice comments about my blog!

  5. You know I actually considered putting up a website to relieve the soon to be raptured of all that excess money they soon won't need. But then my heart grew three sizes and I decided not to ;-)Very sad to hear about Randy Savage. He was one of the most exciting pro wrestlers of the 80s and 90s.

Your thoughtful comments are love to me. Thank you!
