Welcome back for another installment of Music Monday, everyone! Because I haven’t posted for the last three days, I am officially out of the running for Project 365
So where have I been, and why did I bomb?
If you look at the new layout, you’ll see some major differences, and I’m hoping you like the look better. I recently made the painful, albeit practical, transition to a self-hosted website. Now I can do pretty much anything I want to my blog, within reasonable and legal boundaries. Yay! I am freeeeee!
As a consequence, I am currently a week behind in answering comments and visiting my favorite blogs, but I hope to catch up in the next couple of days. I haven’t forgotten you all!
With this being said, I’m looking for a little favor from all of the great readers at LABB (Like a Bump on a Blog). I was nominated for the Shorty Awards this morning in #Blogger, and even though I doubt I have a chance in hell of winning, I surely would love to try. With your help voting nd sharing this post, anything is possible. I know there are better blogs than mine in the blogosphere, but I put my heart and soul into my blog, am consistent, and I’ve come a long way in the 11 months since I’ve begun. It only takes 10 seconds to vote. You can go here or you can click on this very nifty little badge:
Today also is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, and I would be remiss if I didn’t include his famous “I Have a Dream” speech. His dream is still alive, and continues to flourish decades later. May we all, as a society, continue to promote equality and destroy the feelings of animosity, racism, and other prejudices that only serve to weaken the bonds of morality and humanity.
Martin Luther King-I Have a Dream
Now on to the music part of Music Monday! Because I have liberated myself from the clutches of Blogger and WordPress.com and because it seems appropriate, I thought I’d share a few songs that deal with freedom. Enjoy:
Akon-Freedom
Rage Against The Machine-Freedom
Dj Andi feat. Stella-Freedom
Lee Greenwood-God Bless the USA
What is your favorite freedom song? Tell me in the comments.
If you liked this post, I invite you to read the previous one or others in the archives. Before you go, please subscribe to this blog through the available RSS options or via email. I’d be grateful if you took advantage of the sharing buttons located at the bottom of the post, and if you enjoy this blog, please click the “like” button to the right for my Facebook page. Thank you for taking the time to read and comment on my posts.

Your blog is looking great.
@neonsignlullabies Thank you, sweetie!
Hot new look, Amberr! Of course I voted for you. My favourite Martin Luther King Jr. speech is his Street Sweeper one.
@DCMcMillen Thank you, DC! You are fantastic!
I love your new blog and congrats on being liberated. I am not too sure if it's a freedom song but I felt so empowered listening to 'We shall overcome' in the film 'My name is Khan'. Maybe you can look it up on YouTube. All the very best!
@V3RONICADHALL I'll have to check it out, Veronica. Sounds awesome! Thanks for your comment!
