Top 10 Fun Parenting Tips to Always Remember

There are so many things to remember about being a parent, but the most important is to have fun with your kiddos!
There are countless things to be mindful of when you are a parent. Those new to parenting make this discovery on a daily basis. Children can be a heavy responsibility, but the duty doesn’t always have to be so cumbersome. Here are ten fun, interesting, and helpful tips to keep in mind when it comes to parenting.
1. Be ready to be repeated.
Children mimic their parents. And if you are the type that lets a dirty word slip every now and then, be prepared, your child will repeat. Come up with fun alternative words instead.
2. Hide your secrets.
Children are unknowing sharers of all of our secrets. For example, you may have a particular bathroom habit that your toddler has innocently seen. Next thing you know, that person next to you in the grocery store may be getting a random rendition of your personal habits. Hide your secrets.
3. Remember your childhood.
Remember when you were goofy, and imaginitive, and anything could be fascinating in your own youth. This will help you to measure the good or bad of their actions. It will also help in coming up with fun things for the child to do.
4. Ensure adequate sleep.
According to sleep and child psychology experts, getting enough rest is extremely important for a child’s growth and development. The National Sleep Foundation, at http://www.sleepfoundation.org/article/sleep-topics/children-and-sleep , provides guidance on how much is right by age.
5. Calm before bed.
In order to get a good, non-delayed start at bed time, make sure your child is engaging in more tranquil, calm activities. Try cuddling and reading a peaceful bedtime story together. This will set the right mood.
6. Show off your strength
Children learn resilience and coping methods from their parents. Come up with some creative or even fun ways to cope with your own disappointments. You and your child will greatly benefit.
7. Eat Healthily
There are many fun recipes out there that make healthy foods fun and tasty. The earlier this is instilled, the less it will be an absolute culture shock if introduced later. Homemade fruit smoothies or sweet potato pancakes are just two great examples. Check out Kids Health for more helpful ideas.
8. Have fun together.
Find activities that will entertain you both at the same time. Think of things that you like that are also child-friendly. Having fun together will make life so much easier.
9. Reward difficulties overcome.
Rewarding your child’s triumphs will make life easier for you as well. A chore routine may warrant a small allowance. Likewise, not resisting for that flu shot may warrant a small toy. Get creative, shop ahead, and keep a hidden reward supply.
10. Take a break.
When you start feeling burnt out, you are justified in seeking temporary relief. The fun part is that you are now completely justified in going out, having a drink, and enjoying yourself.
These are the top 10 parenting tips to help you along the way. Parenting can be challenging, but by keeping these things in mind, you’ll find it more fun.

Nikii, you are so right–even if it’s just for 20 minutes. The little things always count.
Great reminders! Sometimes in the midst of exhaustion it is easy to forget the joy and fun parts of parenting.
Gina, there is no doubt about that!
Excellent parenting tips. One thing that I would like to add is that it is ok to make mistakes, even better if you apologise to your child for them. From the moment your baby is born you feel the pressure of wanting to be the best parent you possibly can. Exchanging tips (as above) is a fantastic way to head in the right direction, constantly assessing yourself and adapting your parenting skills is another positive step you can take. Thanks for the great post.
Baby knowledge, you’re right. Everyone makes mistakes, and as long as we constantly assess and strive to do well, then we are doing just fine.
